Koekje: Halloween

Cookie Baking:

These cookies were picked out for someone who has the sweetest heart. Pumpkins are always used to celebrate Halloween and I wanted to add a little something extra to these cutout sugar cookies with orange icing and extravagant sprinkles. The dough was difficult to cut at first so I ended up freezing the dough and spreading it on the cookie sheet to cut. I enjoyed making these cookies– pumpkins are especially cute and baking is a great way to share happiness with others. If you’re interested, check out The History of Cookies. The name cookie is derived from the Dutch word koekje, meaning small cake. A Happy Halloween for all– see for yourself!
